Apostolic author Liane Grant offers advice on how to fulfill your dreams.
Has God given you a ministry dream? If so, I am sure you hold this carefully in your heart as a precious promise. But are you taking steps to see that dream fulfilled? Sometimes we think that when God reveals His will for our lives, all we have to do is wait for it to come to pass.
But what if Noah had done that? Gathered all the materials for the ark and then hoped that it would build itself? And what if Joseph had acted this way? Sat down and did nothing inside the prison until God decided to deliver him? And what about Daniel? What if he had just stopped praying and waited for the king to change the law?
Fulfill Your Dreams by Creating New Habits
When God speaks to us, He requires action on our part. Often it is a daily action He is asking for.
What if [Daniel] had just stopped praying and waited for the king to change the law?
Daily actions create habits, habits make us grow, and growth leads us to the fulfillment of our dreams.
Several years ago, the Lord asked me to write a devotional journal. I told him I didn’t have time. (I don’t recommend doing that!) My three children were still young, and I was working full time. A book-writing project was just too intimidating. But God continued to push me to do it. Finally, he asked me if I was capable of getting up twenty minutes earlier each day to write one page. All I could say was, “Yes, Lord.”Daily actions create habits, habits make us grow, and growth leads us to the fulfillment of our dreams. Click To Tweet
And that’s exactly what I did. The journal was finished in a few months, one page at a time. A few years ago, God told me to write a book to help people follow their dreams. Remembering the previous lesson, I didn’t bother to waste time arguing with Him. I simply set aside an hour each morning, and the book was written within a few weeks.
Is it possible that God is actually waiting for you to start taking action to bring [your dream] to pass?
What about you? Is there a dream you have been waiting for a long time to see accomplished? Is it possible that God is actually waiting for you to start taking action to bring it to pass? Think about it: setting aside regular time for this purpose could form the bridge to your dream!
