Have you noticed your kids are spending extra time on digital devices lately? You’re not alone. In a recent study, sixty-nine percent of parents interviewed said their kids’ screen time has increased during the COVID season.

The predicament is understandable. Routines have changed. Normal life patterns were drastically altered in 2020 with little warning. Research has shown for decades that children thrive best within structure, and this year has pulled apart much of the structure that dictated their daily lives. It’s natural that kids turned to the comfort and enjoyment provided by media in the vacuum left after their school and social lives shut down.
Apostolic Media to Redeem Excessive Screen Time
While each parent will need to prayerfully evaluate screen time as a family and make the appropriate decisions, one option is to redeem some of that screen time with Apostolic media.
It’s probably unrealistic to shut down media altogether; it’s so interwoven into our lives. What we can do is use some of that screen time to consume Bible-based content that reinforces an Apostolic worldview and feeds healthy spirituality.
