Ideas for Reaching Our Kids

reach our children seoOne of the parts I love most about a job I greatly love is getting to travel and meet teachers and leaders in the field. At the beginning of the year, I got to visit New Life Tabernacle in Tampa, Florida, and see the tremendous results of a church with a laser focus on children.

I think it’s helpful to hear directly from those who are seeing results so we can get ideas to apply to our own ministry contexts. With that in mind, I invite you to share in a conversation I had with Deon Mills. I’d love to hear how you adapt her suggestions for recruiting volunteers, rotating schedules, and more.

Closely related to this conversation of getting ideas on building a team of volunteers, I want to strongly recommend the new book, Churchwork. Pastor Rodney Shaw, who has worked with David K. Bernard in leading New Life Austin, writes with a beautiful blend of inspiration and practical instruction, addressing tough topics of what it means to build an effective team.
