Brother Scism was raised in India from the age of fifteen by pioneer missionaries Ellis and Majorie Scism. The young Harry Scism gave his life completely to the people of that vast subcontinent. His wry humor and softly accented English, familiar throughout the fellowship, reflect how much he absorbed India’s British influence.

He served as the first regional field supervisor (regional director) for the combined regions of Asia/Pacific and was appointed as general director of Global Missions in 1976 to fill the unexpired term of T. F. Tenney. He served in that position for the next twenty-five years during an era of rapid expansion of missionary outreach worldwide.
William D. Turner and his wife, Elizabeth, are retired UPCI missionaries and serve as part-time instructors at Indiana Bible College in Indianapolis.
