How to Overcome Temptations as Teachers
Perhaps it sounds funny to think of teachers as being tempted. However, take an honest inventory: have you ever felt tempted to do something extreme to get students’ attention? to be liked by your students? to entertain?
Some of those efforts are necessary—we need to be intentional about the reality of student attention spans, for instance.
Yet we must ensure our teaching ministry is rooted in taking students into God’s Word and His presence rather than merely about connecting them to us. Check out this month’s video for an emphasis on these three keys:
- Be yourself.
- Build relationships.
- Open the door for the Spirit to move.
