This two-part blog post introduces Lisa Taylor’s book, The Grace Blueprint: The Story of the Tabernacle. Part two will include an interview with the author.
The Grace Blueprint was released in 2016 and is available at the Pentecostal Publishing website. The book has been translated into French and plans are underway for it to be released in Spanish within the next year.
Overview of the Story of the Tabernacle
The book explains how God used the Tabernacle to demonstrate his desire to dwell among the children of Israel.
In the book, Taylor provides a complete overview of the Tabernacle. This includes the sanctuary and furnishings, the role of the priests and the high priest, and the sacrificial system. The book shows how all aspects of the Tabernacle worked together to form a singular, masterful plan revealing God’s grace and glory to His people.
The book explains how God used the Tabernacle to demonstrate his desire to dwell among the children of Israel. Taylor illustrates various features of the Tabernacle—how its furnishings and design prefigured the incarnation of Christ. In this way the Tabernacle is a divine “blueprint” of Christ, our perfect High Priest and the perfect sacrifice. The book further describes how God dwells in His church today, arguing that the Spirit-filled church and a Spirit-led life are the modern fulfillment of the Tabernacle plan.
God organized His people around His presence with the intent that they, as His people, would focus their lives on Him. Share on XTaylor states, “God organized His people around His presence with the intent that they, as His people, would focus their lives on Him.” This was true during the time of the Tabernacle and is true for Christians today.
Please read part 2 on September 25, as it will include an interview with the author and gives insight into practical applications of the principles contained in the book.
