Excerpt from Trudy and the Cupcake of the Month Contest, a Book for Children
Trudy’s eyes opened wide. The sun was shining through the window of the Heavenly Bakery. What a great day!
Trudy yawned. She was still sleepy. Suddenly she saw a poster about the Cupcake of the Month Contest. “Hmm…” she thought.
“Wait! The contest is today!”
“The contest is today!” Trudy jumped down. She jumped so fast, some of her frosting fell off. She really wanted to win that contest. Trudy was a sweet cupcake. Everyone loved her. But she didn’t feel special. She wanted others to really notice her.
Trudy looked in the mirror. She was a vanilla cupcake with pink frosting, sprinkles, and strawberry. “I need to change to win that contest. I need more. . . MORE,” she said to herself.
Trudy went to the decorating room. There were sprinkles, candy, fruit, and more. It was amazing!
First, Trudy found some beads and put them on. Then she added a big bow. Next she grabbed a lemon, a cherry, and some blueberries. She put them beside her strawberry. “This is good,” Trudy smiled.
Does Trudy win this contest that is so important to her? Follow along with her on her journey as she learns the Master Baker doesn’t judge based on the outward appearance but the beauty that comes from within.
